If you've chosen Fast Track Transfer, they just send us their logbook and we handle everything with the DVLA. If you've gone for the self-service option, you hand them the ownership certificate and they'll need to register the plate to their car themselves via the DVLA website or by post.
Once we place an order with the DVLA, it typically takes 7-10 days for the ownership certificate to arrive with us. If you've selected Fast Track Transfer, we can register it to their car the same day it arrives, or post the certificate on to you.
