Hero Background

Buying a new registration

Brand new. Never issued.

Each year the DVLA releases new registration numbers that have never been on a vehicle before.

No previous keeper. No history. Just a clean slate.

What you get

When you buy one, the DVLA sends you a certificate confirming the registration is yours. It's called a V750, think of it as proof that you control the plate. At this point it isn't on a vehicle yet. It's yours, ready when you are.

How long does it last?

Your certificate is valid for 10 years. Not ready to use it yet? No rush. You can renew it before it expires.

Putting it on a vehicle

When you're ready, you put the registration onto a vehicle officially.

Buying a new car and want it on from day one?

Most dealerships handle it.

Already have a vehicle?

You can do it yourself online, or add Fast track transfer at checkout and we'll take care of the paperwork for you. Once it's on a vehicle, it stays there until you decide to move it.
